My involvement with IERE began when I participated as a co-author in the IERE Technology Foresight: In-depth Research on AI, which was conducted prior to the launch of the AI joint research project. That experience introduced me to the unique platform for international collaboration that IERE provides. Since then, I have continued to participate in AI-related joint research, building connections with researchers from around the world and gaining valuable insights into the latest AI technologies and their practical applications.
Currently, I’m actively engaged in IERE’s AI joint research activities. With the IERE Central Office conveniently located here in Komae, Tokyo, it is easy to maintain close communication and exchange information on a regular basis.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being involved in IERE is the opportunity to meet and engage directly with power industry experts and researchers from around the world—individuals we would seldom encounter in our day-to-day work. As AI applications in the power sector continue to attract global attention, IERE provides a valuable platform for sharing real-world experiences, discussing practical challenges, and learning from one another’s efforts.
Looking ahead, I believe IERE’s global network will play an increasingly important role in advancing international joint projects and fostering dynamic collaboration—not only in AI, but also across many other emerging technology fields.
For anyone considering joining IERE, I strongly encourage you to get involved. Through activities such as the AI joint research project, we can explore new opportunities together and help drive the application of AI in the electric power industry forward. I look forward to welcoming new participants to this growing community!
