From the Treasurer

Energy plays a crucial role in the agenda and the sustainable development of any country or economy. Delivering resilient infrastructure, as well as affordable and clean energy will be key in accelerating the energy transition. To enable this, we need to foster innovation and the advancement of disruptive technologies.

Technology research and collaboration across companies, industries and geographies are of utmost importance, particularly in the fast-evolving energy industry and digitally driven world. Increased activity and innovation are expected to occur along with the whole value chain, covering the decarbonisation of power generation, smart and resilient grids, affordable energy storage, digitalisation, mobility, customer engagement and new business models.

IERE is in a strong position to facilitate the development of future power systems. As a global platform of electric R&D, technology development and deployment, members of IERE can exchange best practice and innovative ideas, co-develop cutting-edge technologies and explore creative business models, thus promoting innovation that helps to ensure the development of safe, secure, reliable and affordable electricity supply that is clean and sustainable.

I am honoured to have the opportunity to serve IERE as the treasurer and be a part of IERE’s exciting future. I look forward to close collaboration with all IERE members to drive technology innovation and the energy transition to support to the sustainable development of the electric power industry.
