Dear IERE Members,
Thank you very much for your interest in and contributions to IERE
Activities. As a starter of TIS-Asia* activities, some IERE members
are planning to lead a caravan by their own expense for surveying
technological issues in Asian countries, with the support of IERE
central office.
The tentative plan is as described below. If you are interested in this caravan,

8-14 April, 2007:
Visit to
TNB (Malaysia),Institute of Energy (Vietnam), Vietnam Electricity
Prospective Members:
Tokyo EPCO, CRIEPI, Toshiba etc.
15-25 April, 2007: Visit to
PT.PLN (Indonesia), Power Grid (Singapore)and some generation companies in Singapore,EGAT (Thailand) etc.
Prospective Members:
Kansai EPCO, Chubu EPCO, CRIEPI etc.
<* TIS-Asia Activity>
TIS stands for Technological Issues and Solutions.
TIS-Asia activity is aiming at
- Finding common or country specific problems in Asia region in the
field of electric power techbologies, e,g. technologies on construction,
operation & maintenance of power supply system, and global environment.
- Establishing mechanisms to practically provide solutions.
IERE members shall contribute to TIS-Asia activities with the supports of
IERE central office.
The IERE board members agreed with the whole concept of TIS Activities,
and the TIS-Asia was approved as the first trial of the TIS Activities at the
12th IERE Board Meeting. Please refer to "TIS-Activities" and
"the minutes of the board meeting"(Members Only).
